April 29, 2017 Spring disappeared between a flood and a heatwave!

While flowers have and still look good, with new appearances everyday, my spring crops have been a disaster with lettuce, escaroles, onions and leeks going to seeds under pressure from those 80° F popping up every other day. Forget about even starting kale or spinach from seeds when we expect 91° tomorrow!

Peas and bush beans look fine so far.

The only really happy campers, right now, are the tomato plants  put in the ground three weeks early, thy look gorgeous and even started to bloom.
