07-11-2020 More lilies and...high heat!

Even early morning, it is getting more difficult to take care of the garden...at a time weeds are growing wild and veggies need added attention.

Flowers are still looking good, blackberries are all gone, Asian pears (not related to the Kung Flu found in DC!) have started producing. There are a smaller than last year but extremely juicy. Cucumbers taste great but many do not fully develop due to lack of pollinators killed by the mosquito sprayers.

06-07-2020 Lilies and veggies!

This is the exciting time of year when lilies will bloom for weeks, in different sizes, colors, looks and when you start eating sweet peas, bush beans...and the first cucumbers while waiting for your first tomato. Raspberries, blueberries and blackberries are now part of the daily diet.
It also means that the cool days are gone until November.
