10-15-2022 Automnal reprieve.

 The last three weeks have seen a rebirth of flowers in the garden.The summer heat has been so brutal that even some of the perennials kept their head down most of the time. The cooler temps have brought out what almost feels like a spring (re) bloom of bright colors... the last ones before this coming week's possible first freeze. 

You have to enjoy them while you can!








Those are harbingers of coming winter. last ones to bloom before the cold.








Ian's impact: most of my banana trees got decapitated. Small damage compared to those poor people in Florida.
On the plus side, one of the crashed banana trees revealed a flower that had been hidden from sight.

06-18-2022: from gladiolus to sunflowers!

 From the gladiolus I managed to save from the rabbits to lilies not gobbled up by deer and sunflowers grown within fencing to survive more deer!

I wanted a garden to would be welcoming to people, insects, birds and other living things and the success has been overwhelming!
