04-22-2018 One day after Earthday but, then, here it's always Earthday!

Are we now really facing Spring after all these ups and downs in temps from the 80s to near freezing in just a few hours?

I'd like to believe we finally made it. last night we had dinner al fresco on the front porch while pollen was bearable, mosquitoes absent still and the temperature absolutely heavenly. Enjoying our food to the sound of running water and watching a rubby throated hummingbird dancing back and forth above our heads.

Now is Iris time:

White "Chinese" Wisteria, this one needs a "scratch and sniff" app.

These are some the raised beds with escaroles, leeks, spinach, bush beans and flowers. The kale is on its way out, showing its yellow flowers.
last year I already had planted my tomatoes but decided to wait a little longer this year with the soil still being pretty cold. I don't want to give the poor plants too much of a shock!
