I can't believe we're already in June! A little too early for summer vegetables although my son David shared his first Cherry tomatoes with me a couple of days ago, about a month ahead of schedule. they tasted just like I remembered. We shared the moment!
The peas are nearing their end. Marjorie is going to miss them.
One crop that is coming in one tantalizing fruit at a time is my raspberries. I love raspberries but my plantation is not mature enough yet to give me large quantities so that my wife and I end up eating them one or two at a time.
Don't tell me that baby is not tempting! |
One thing that started popping up in abundance and variety is the lilies, in orange, red, pink, dark maroon, yellow, showing their sharp colors amongst the greenery.
Did I mention that I pulled two wheelbarrows of weeds out of one flower/fruit tree bed and I am not even finished yet? The good thing is that it feeds my compost pile.

This one is a day lily, meaning its flowers do not last more than a day. |
One of my all time favorite color combination in nature. Although, in this case, nature did get quite a bit of help from some Dutch plant grower. Great job!!!! |

ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! My raspberries aren't doing well this year. :( I think my neighbor is spraying his weeds to close to my bushes! ugh! I think I may have to transplant.
